Oklahoma Wedding

Kevin and I returned home Monday evening from a {long} trip to Broken Bow, Oklahoma. It took us two days to caravan over with the rest of the Johnson gang, stopping the first night in Amarillo, Texas. The small town was so green and lush, not at all what I had expected. It reminded Kevin a lot of Georgia, which is where he served his mission. We were able to rent a house by the lake for the entire family to stay and had such a great time together. There was even a dog that hung around the house and seemed to really love having us there. We definitely had a hard time dealing with the high humidity (I think 94% one day). One night, we all made our way outside to see the lightning bugs, such a cool thing to see. What a great trip it was!

Tyler and Kassie wore these shirts for their rehearsal and dinner. It was such a cute idea. We are definitely going to miss having them so close. Plus, they are both super great with all the kids. We wish them nothing but the best of luck and a lifetime of happiness together!

I was able to catch Tyler for a minute before the wedding to get this picture of Kevin with his little brother (the groom of course).

Kevin and I were so happy that we were able to make the long trip to Oklahoma. Although we didn't get to sit together during the wedding, we enjoyed the experience and were glad that we could support Tyler & Kassie.

Avrie is one little stubborn two year old, so when I was able to snap this picture of her smiling, I took advantage. She is such a cutie and I love that we now have proof.

Kylie and Jacie were the flower girls for the wedding. They did a great job and looked so cute!

This was the same picture that I have from our wedding and we thought it was a fun idea for such an adventurous couple. It took a minute for the groomsmen to figure out how to lift her up, but it sure made for a memorable picture.

They had this "Money Tree" set up next to the gifts. Every one was welcomed to place a few bills on the tree for the happy couple to use on their honey-moon. It was such a great idea! Plus, they got a pretty large chunk of change to help them on their trip to Hot Springs.

We couldn't help ourselves... Tyler's car got tagged. We kept it "classy" just as Kevin wanted us to (our car was really bad when we got married and he didn't want Tyler to be subject to the same treatment). We even put balloons in the back seat and bride/groom toys in the front window.

We stopped by Broken Bow Lake on our way out of town. It was larger than we expected it to be and the water felt wonderful. We wished that we could have stayed a little longer and actually get in the water. Kevin found a spot by the shore that had a bunch of slate that was breaking off easily. So, everyone grabbed a piece (a little souvenir because who knows when or if we will ever be back).

7 Years Later...

Monday marked 7 years since the day that Kevin and I were sealed for time and all eternity. Kevin surprised us with a delicous cake for dessert. We were then able to get the kids to bed early so that we could watch a movie "kid free". It was a great way to celebrate our life together!

Our Night at the Drive-In

Saturday night we decided to take the kids to the drive-in theater for the first time. The double feature was Despicable Me and Shrek the Final Chapter. While the weather did not cool down as much as we hoped it would, we enjoyed both movies very much. Kimble and Karter especially loved the fact that they got to play in the car while watching a movie. We definitely plan to go again!
