Happy Thanksgiving...a little late

On this day of thanks giving, I want to let everyone know that I am truly grateful for my family. We recently had our annual family picture taken and I wanted to share a couple of my favorites. I feel that they capture my family so well. Kevin, Kimble and Karter are blessings in my life and I will always be happy to be their wife and mom.

Let the Holidays Begin!

Last night we kicked off our holiday season with a trip to Zoo Lights at the Phoenix Zoo. They were having special preview nights for members with some fun freebies we had to take advantage of.

First, we stopped at Sting Ray Bay to touch the sting rays. I was surprised at how soft and slimy they were. I only needed to feel it once, but everyone else seemed to be enjoying it. There was even a small shark in the pool.

Next, we took a ride on the carousel. Kimble first wanted the shark, then settled on the zebra. Unfortunately, as the ride began she noticed the horse in front of her. So for the entire ride, she was just so sad. Karter on the other hand didn't really care and was not really sure what was happening.

After walking around the light display and watching the "Dancing Trees," Karl (my younger brother) decided that he wanted to try climbing the Coconut Tree. It looked a little awkward because he is so tall, but he made it up to the top quickly.

We can't wait to go back next year! Hopefully, it will actually be cold by that time.

Preschool Pics

Yesterday, Kimble came off the bus with school pictures in hand. I was so pleased to see that she actually smiled. They turned out kind of cute! (Now, if I could only get the photographer to crop a little better.)

What Was He Thinking?!

Today we discovered why it is not a good idea to keep the paper shredder on auto. Karter apparently decided that Kimble didn't need her Reader Rabbit game anymore and stuck it in the shredder. I suppose there is a first (and last) time for everything, although this is one that I could have lived without.

Walking Time

The weather has finally started to cool down (but just a little). The mornings and evenings have been quite nice lately, so we have been trying to take full advantage. We have been going on lots of walks together and it has been really fun.

On a Happier Note

Happy Birthday to McKay(3) and Tyler!!

So Sad...

Yesterday, we found out that our ward is finally going to be split next week. It has been just over a year since we were moved into the ward from the first ward we were in when we moved out to Queen Creek. I was really starting to love my calling in YW and especially the girls and leaders. Although I know that they are not any further away from my house,I will still miss serving with such awesome women. It has truly been an experience I will never forget and essentially learn from. Big thanks to the leaders that made me feel so welcome when we first came into the ward and continued that friendship for the long-haul.

It's Official...

Friday morning we were all witnesses to the first sound of the heartbeat for baby #3!Kimble and Karter were not too interested and were actually a little scared by how loud it was. Anyway, the baby is due May 2009 (wow that looks kind of weird to type 2009). We were very careful not to add another March baby to our family- Heather's birthday month is starting to get little full, especially with another little one due this March for my sister. We are all excited to meet this new miracle and I only hope that the baby gets Daddy's good looks like Kimble and Karter did.

Shed In The Stix

Last night I got to set up my display of crafts for a country craft boutique. It was originally set to take place before Halloween, but was changed to this weekend (I needed the time to finish anyway). Two Young Women leaders are putting it on and have more than 20 vendors participating. As soon as I walked in, I said "My stuff is not as cute as all this!" I had to take a couple minutes to walk around and check out all the majorly cute items for sale, although I can't afford to buy any of them. If you are interested in buying some way awesome holiday gifts, find more information at www.shedinthestix.com. The boutique starts today and runs through Saturday.

Happy Halloween (Yesterday)

The day finally came!! This would be the third time the kids got to get dressed up and trick-or-treat. Karter was so not happy about wearing that costume again and put up a fight, until we told him he could ride in the wagon.

Kimble looked pretty cute in her fairy wings (thanks Heather). I just had to get a shot of her from the back, walking up the street with her first piece of candy held tightly in her hand. Both kids were ready to stop and eat candy after the first house.

Karter was able to wait until we got home to start chowing down on a tootsie-roll pop. He definitely had his eye on the rest of his loot though.

Better Than Candy

The other day, in preparation for Halloween, I pulled out some play-doh for the kids. They had black and orange to work with (I decided to save the other colors for their stockings). It was really fun and a little messy. Kimble had a great time making footprints with the horses she is 'borrowing' from my parent's house. Karter really liked to wait for Kimble to get off her chair, then steal her play-doh.
