The kids have been getting more and more excited about the baby's arrival. They love countdown chains, so I thought it would be fun to countdown the number of days until my c-section. While it's fun for the kids, it made me realize how long I have left to be pregnant. Yikes!

phoenix zoo
A couple weeks ago Kimble and Karter got to spend four nights at the Pratt's house! We met up with them, and Amy and Evelyn, at the zoo to get them back. It just so happened to be a hot muggy morning in Phoenix, which we didn't love but the animals did. We took a ride on the train (instead of walking all around), stopped by the giraffes of course and checked out the Arizona trail before leaving. The kids were crankier than normal- we are blaming it on the weather- so we didn't stay long. Although, Koltyn loved being in charge of the map and telling us where to go. Thanks for inviting us Steph!
honey do...
Kevin has been busy working on his resume this summer, but was finally able to start checking things off his "honey do" list the last couple weekends. He painted walls in the kids' rooms, set up the crib and finished the boy's closet all by himself. He only has a few weekends left before he starts the last semester of his master's program!

camping 2012 {sunday}
After breakfast Sunday morning my Mom gave a little lesson about doing hard things, talking about Jonah. She even had an activity for the kids when she was done. We also took a picture of all the grand kids on the log that the kids worked so hard to strip the bark off of. It was a fun, but hot, family trip!
camping 2012 {saturday}
Saturday morning the kids were up bright and early, back to playing volleyball and bug catching.
When Heather arrived we all headed down to Willow Springs lake. There was lots of fishing, rock throwing/skipping, bug hunting and kayaking (thanks JaNel and Karl).
Jenna just learned to crawl and was constantly covered in dirt. She was actually pretty clean in this picture, she hadn't started eating the dirt yet.
Our after dinner activity tonight was a talent show and light show put on by the kids. They all got glow bracelets and danced around. At one point they even made a light parade while Karl played the Electric Light Parade music on his phone. When they were done with their show, JaNel set up her super fancy telescope and let everyone get a close up look at the moon. It was amazing!
camping 2012 {friday}
Last week we traveled north to the rim for the annual Stewart family camping trip. We wanted to leave Friday morning, but had some car trouble so we didn't get off until lunch time. As soon as we got there we starting working on getting the tent put up while the kids joined their cousins in playing around camp. Koltyn played for a little while, but soon found helping Daddy with the tent stakes was more fun.
The kids found this fallen tree and began to rip chunks of the bark off to create a "club house". Karter was pretty good at taking off pieces bigger than himself and carrying them all the way over to the special spot. They were able to get all the bark off eventually, they worked on it off and on for two days! It kept them busy and they found lots of bugs.
While the kids were not messing with the fallen tree, we were playing lots of volleyball and badminton. I couldn't resist playing with them, it brought back some fond memories of high school. Kimble was getting pretty good by the time we left.
Our after dinner activity for the night was freshly popped popcorn and a movie. My parents pulled the tv out of their trailer and we all set up our chairs around it. Apparently, A Bug's Life is a big hit with the kids when they get to watch it outside, in a forest.
