Haircuts
Kimble's hair was so long and started to get tangled more often. It has been a whole year since her first haircut, so it was definitely time. I think the short hair makes her look older. I cannot believe she is almost 4!
Karter has gotten more haircuts in his lifetime than Kimble, so he is pretty used to clippers now. I love to keep his hair short. Plus,I love not having to worry about what to do with it every morning to keep it out of his face like Kimble.

The Grass Has Arrived!
Just one YEAR after we planned on getting grass in the backyard, we finally did it! What a difference a little green (not including weeds) makes. We still have tons more to do before the yard will be complete, but the grass was a huge step in the right direction.
The work to prep the area started Friday... First, Kevin put down gypsum and mulch; then he tilled; then he leveled it all back out.
We had requested the sod for Saturday morning, but it arrived Friday night. Kevin was so excited that he actually started laying the sod as soon as the truck pulled away. That got the kids excited too and they just had to watch.
Kevin didn't end up getting much done Friday night because he had to get up early to volunteer at the Queen Creek Garden show. Saturday morning he helped setup, came home and put down some sod, then went back to help take down and finally back home to finish the yard.
He had all the sod in the backyard by noon...
When I got back from a Scentsy party, this is what I found. The backyard was transformed and the kids were having a great time on the new grass. We actually came up a little short on the sod, but what a great day. Kevin did an awesome job and hopefully he won't be sore for too long.

Valentine Prep
Kimble will have her first official school Valentine's Day party tomorrow! Of course, I wasn't about to send her with some valentines out of a box (not my style). So I printed out some cards I designed real quick on the computer, added a bag of fruit snacks and tied a ribbon around. This project cost me less than $2. I was pretty proud of myself and thus the reason for this post. I really need to find a new project now. I think it is a little sad that I cared so much about how some preschool valentines looked.

Big Boy Bed
Last night Karter slept in his "big boy bed"!! I finally got it put together yesterday afternoon. Karter was super excited and just could not stay off of it as I was trying to get it all ready. Big thanks to everybody who helped: my parents for the bed frames (Kimble's too), Kevin's parents for Karter's bed and my sister, Stephanie, for the cute linens. Next step, decorations.
