Wednesday, we got to play at the Pratt's house all day. Kimble was super excited to play with McKay and to ask Steph to make her more play-doh. Plus, it is always fun for kids to play with different toys once in a while. It was a perfect opportunity to get another picture of Koltyn and Sophie together, too. Having kids so close in age has been great for us. From feeding the chickens and playing on the trampoline to peanut butter and honey sandwiches and otter pops, the kids had tons of fun!
McKay and Kimble are 8 months apart in age.
Koltyn and Sophie are just 2 months apart in age.

Movie Night in the Living Room
Kevin brought home a projector he checked out from work for the Cactus Fiesta on Saturday so we had a movie night last night. The kids were so excited to watch a movie on the wall. He set it up in the living room and the picture took up the entire empty wall, it was huge. We brought down blankets and pillows and had some popcorn to snack on. Wallie was the movie of choice (it is good for kids and adults). Even Koltyn was watching the movie in his jumperoo. What a great family night!
Swim Party
We have been swimming more this summer than ever before, which has been super fun for the kids. This time we were celebrating Landen's birthday party (nephew on the Johnson side). He chose to have a Monster Jam swim party. The kids came home with tons of candy from the pinata and some awesome goody bags... thanks Landen and Happy Birthday!!

Happy Much?
Sunday we celebrated Dallin and Karl's birthdays at our family dinner. Steph, my sister and Dallin's mom, made an awesome robot cake. She did it all her self and it turned out so cool. I just loved all of Dallin's reactions when he was opening his gifts... all out happiness! It is amazing what Legos can do for a young boy. Happy birthday guys!
Nap Time
I finally got nap time for Karter figured out. Usually, I put on a movie downstairs and he falls asleep on the floor. Yesterday, I put the portable DVD player from the car in his room and he fell asleep on his bed. It made me feel better knowing that he was on his comfy bed instead of drooling on the carpet.
3 Months & First Haircut
Last night, after much disapproval on my part, Kevin cut Koltyn's hair! He just said, " I'm going to cut it" and off he went to the bathroom. The clippers were pretty loud, so of course I had to jump in and help cover his ears because I felt so bad. Koltyn was not too happy with the whole situation and made some pretty funny faces in the meantime. Poor guy... he looks like a totally different baby now!

Bartlett Lake
We headed back out on the boat this weekend with the Johnson family. This trip, we went to Bartlett Lake, just north of Scottsdale, because Lake Pleasant water levels are so low. It was an interesting drive through very expensive homes that seemed to be in the middle of the dessert. The lake was awesome. We all loaded into the boat and zoomed off to find the perfect spot to set up camp.
We quickly got everything unloaded, then the boys, grandma and the kids (minus Jamie and Koltyn) headed back out to enjoy the lake. Kevin and Keith tried skiing with mild success and then took turns on the tube with the kids.
They stayed out for a while, by the time they found us again it was time for lunch. So we packed back up and sped back to the docks. Kimble was not happy that it was time to leave, but had fun pretending to drive the boat through the parking lot. We are hoping to get back out one more time before the weather gets too cool. Thanks for the ride Grandma and Papa Johnson!!

Jumperoo
Koltyn is just moving right along. He continues to get bigger everyday and is already outgrowing some 3-6 month outfits. Luckily for me, he has gotten into a routine and has been sleeping through the night for 3 weeks. Unfortunately, right now he eats at the same time in the afternoon that the school bus picks up and drops off Kimble. I now have to figure out how to change his routine just slightly enough that it makes 1pm and 4pm less stressful. I also discovered that Koltyn loves the jumperoo. I set it up because he was starting to get mad every time I put him in the swing. I thought he might be too young for it still, but he holds his head up well and really enjoys standing or sitting up as opposed to reclining. He only lasts about 5-10 minutes at a time, but the little break from holding him is nice.
What?!

Back to Preschool!!
This afternoon Kimble left for the first day of her last year of preschool. She was totally ready to get back to school, although she is a little upset that her classroom is at a new school (Ranch Elementary). Luckily, she has the same great teachers that she had last year, which should help her to adjust quickly to the new environment.
While waiting for the bus to arrive, it is usually running late on the first day, we took lots of pictures and Kimble told Karter and me stories about dragons. She loves to tell stories about whatever is on her mind at the time and they are always very dramatic.
While is was nice to see her so happy to get on the bus and head to school, Karter was mad that he didn't get on the bus with Kimble. He loves his sister and doesn't like to see her leaving without him. I just let him throw a fit on the front porch for a while and then had to coax him inside with a movie. It will take him some time to adjust, too. Poor guy!
Parker Turned Eight
Saturday we attended Parker's baptism in Mesa. It was so neat to see my oldest nephew making the choice to be baptized by his father, Aaron. He even took a minute to bear his sweet testimony to a room full of family and friends. What a great example... Kimble is a little mad that she has to wait until she is eight to get baptized like Parker.

Fun to Do
Once again, we turned to taking pictures when we needed something to keep ourselves entertained yesterday. Kimble was totally into it, but Karter just couldn't sit still (I didn't get a great picture of him). Koltyn has really started smiling- and even giggling- it was fun to get pictures of his happiness. Only one more week until Kimble starts school, so I am trying to make the best of what summer we have left with activities she loves.
