Christmas Eve Means Tradition

Every year, since we have been married, we spend Christmas eve night with my family. We had a yummy dinner like always and then continued with some of our annual traditions. First, reading the nativity story. My mom made these cute hand puppets a couple years ago to help keep the kids interested. My brother, Ryan, got a little more into it than Karter did.

Then, my mom had gotten wood ornaments to color. Kimble was looking forward to this activity, probably because she is so totally into coloring right now. She even displayed her masterpieces when she finished. Karter was happy to share his ornaments with me, too.

We usually make gingerbread houses (well, graham cracker houses). The kids made ice cream cone trees this year. Kevin decided that his tree needed a house along side. Karter got a little too into it and got frosting in his hair. What a silly guy!

The time for presents finally came at the end of the night. Kimble and Karter both got perfect presents. For some reason, Kimble is really loving old school Gumby. Karter is always happy to get more cars.

We made sure to get the kids in their jammies before leaving. Koltyn got to wear the traditional "Baby's First Christmas" pajamas. Each of the other kids wore these for their first Christmas also. Love it!
