a night at the ballpark

Friday night, we took Kimble and Karter to their first baseball game. We parked in Tempe and caught a ride on  the light rail into Phoenix. This may have been the highlight of the night for the kids. They wanted to go home before the first inning was over. We ended up sticking it out until the end of the sixth inning before hopping back on the train (which was now packed with not so sweet smelling Comic-Con fans).

 Karter got "bored" and was kept busy by taking pictures. He doesn't usually want to take pictures, so this was pretty fun for me too.

monster truck swim party

What does Koltyn love? Monster trucks and water, of course! Thus the theme, if you will, for his third birthday. We had our families over on Saturday for an afternoon of fun in the sun. He was super excited to open his presents and find lots of monster trucks. He even got a new trike (he actually knows how to pedal and his hand-me-down tricycle was getting a little small). It was such a great party, we are so lucky. Thank you family!

we made it!

(Not sure why it won't rotate, but it was such a cute picture I'll let it slide)

it's great to be {three}

 Koltyn got to open presents first thing in the morning, which made a great start to his day. After dinner, we went to Sweetie Peaz for frozen yogurt, yumm! Happy Birthday Bubba!

mother's day

 This year we had a great Mother's Day! I got to have lunch with the Johnson gals and dinner with the Stewart girls on Saturday and spent Sunday with my own little family. I mentioned to Kevin that I have been wanting to put flowers in the pot I bought for the porch (a while ago) and, viola!
 We had Sunday dinner at my parents' house and got to Skype with my little sister all night. She is at BYU-I and we haven't seen her for a whole month. It was fun to be able to talk with her and have her there again- well, kind of. Kimble made sure to get her picture before we left.

it's a girl {probably}

We went to my second trimester ultrasound this morning, hoping to hear that this baby is a girl. The technician was nice enough, but not super friendly and only gave us this one blury picture (I think it was her favorite because the baby has its legs in the air). The experience was definitely not as fun as the ultrasounds I had with the other kids. She finished without even asking whether we wanted to know the gender, so I asked her what her opinion was. Since she didn't see any "boy parts" she said the baby was probably a girl, but she never says she is one hundred percent positive because there is always a chance the baby just didn't let us see what we needed to see. So we are going with girl, maybe my doctor can take a look and tell us for sure when I go in next week.
