ready for baby

With only a few weeks to go until the baby is scheduled to arrive, we are ready for her to join our family.

Last weekend, Kimble and I were invited to attend a girl's lunch/baby shower with the amazing ladies from our family (grandmas, aunts and a couple cousins to play with). Heather was our hostess and did a great job with everything from the food to the decorations. We came home with a head start on size two diapers, lots of wipes, some new outfits for Kenley and the diaper bag I have had my eye on for a while. It was a great day, we love our family!

I have had some requests from my family to share pictures of how I am decorating the baby's room. Pink is the main color with bursts of green, orange, yellow and grey. I made a couple garlands (from paint color samples), fabric in hoops and a ribbon mobile (which ended up in the window). My mom was nice enough to make a door muff for me, too. I am still working on the letters for her name, but those will go up above the crib.

 I have also been trying to get the other kids' rooms decorated since we shuffled them all around. In Kimble's room, I hung up the garlands that we made for her birthday party (pink, yellow and brown), pinned string to the wall for her to hang her masterpieces and finally got her headboard painted.

The boys' room has yet to get any kind of treatment, but eventually we will get their beds painted navy blue (we already have the paint, just need to find the time) and I will blow up car pictures for the walls (with pops of green). We'll post pictures once that project is finished, promise.

getting ready...

 In hopes of getting ready for our crazy life after the baby arrives, I decided to put together some freezer meals. I have never done it myself before, so I found recipes online, got all the ingredients and put them together this morning. Can't wait to try them out, hope they taste yummy.

four {long} weeks to go.

I was thinking the other day that I have not taken pictures of myself this pregnancy like I did with the others, so you now get to see half of me in all my pregnant glory. With only four weeks until my due date my feet/ankles are swollen, my face is getting puffy and I am sore all over. The baby is still measuring three weeks ahead, which means my belly is getting heavy but we may get to meet our little one sooner than we thought. Hopefully we will know more next week after a second ultrasound and another check up with my doctor.
