This morning was going so well, Kimble got on the school bus without any problems and Karter did not throw a fit when he couldn't go with her. Then, Karter had to go and fall off a kitchen chair (which happens rarely, actually). I ran over, checked his head and immediately saw a bump forming over his left eye. He refused to let me put a cold compress on it, so the bump grew quickly. Fortunately, he does not seem to be bothered by it now and is playing as usual. With all the falls he takes, I suppose he has just learned to move on after an injury.

Prince & Princess
These crown were left over after our personal progress night at mutual on Tuesday. I wrote the kid's names on them and they turned out to be a big hit. Of course, as soon as I snapped the picture of Karter, his crown was ripped into two pieces. Kimble was able to keep her crown in working condition until later in the day. They were fun while they lasted.

WOOHOO!!
The day has finally arrived... The Office Season 5 starts tonight!! I have been watching past seasons on DVD over and over all summer and I cannot wait for something new. Did Pam and Jim get engaged? Is Ryan still on the show or in jail? Did Angela and Dwight hook up, leaving Andy in the dust? All questions I hope will be answered tonight. I know that I am not the only one excited...Can I get a WHAT WHAT?!!

Date Night to Remember
Our Stake Temple day was on Friday and all the YM/YW leaders from all the wards in the stake were invited to attend the 7pm chapel session. It was the first time Kevin and I have been to one of them, so we really made an effort to be there. We were lucky enough to also be invited to dinner with all the YW leaders in our ward before the session. Our YW are so lucky, these are great sisters (they really know how to have fun)! The temple was great, except that the temple was a little off schedule and we didn't leave until 10pm. The night didn't end there though. Kalyn Tanner wanted to go to Cheesecake Factory for her birthday, so almost all of us headed out to get cheesecake at 10:30pm. Usually, we are not late night people, but not getting home until midnight was worth it. We had a great time with everybody and can't wait until we can do it again!

Not So Cute Shoot
Inspired by Rachaell's photo shoot with her kids (which turned out so cute), I tried to have one of my own. First, I had to make a backdrop which was not easy and not tall enough. Then I had to get my kids to sit still which was not easy either. My photos definitely are not so cute, but I guess I have learned my lesson... leave it to the professional!

Thank You Kevin
Sunday night, I was not so surprised when Karter walked into the room with highlighted eyebrows and nose. Kevin, of course, found this to be hilarious and it was not even the first time he has written on his son (sad, I know). He then proceeded to give Karter the marker and laugh. I have to admit that it looked funny, but that does not mean that I approve of him drawing on his son's face. What are moms to do?

What Were We Thinking
Yesterday, Kevin decided that we all need to join him in going to check out our lot in Arizona City. (I know that most people have never even heard of this tiny town, just so you know... it is south of the exit for the 8 (to San Diego), off the I-10. For some reason, we thought they it was our only chance to own a home two years ago and now we are stuck with it.) Anyway, we all headed down there, Kevin knowing that I really wanted to be at the Tupperware party I was invited to at 2pm. We visited with Jeremy and his family, who live in Arizona City and then proceeded to clean the lot. The dirt was not even dirt, more like sand... which made for some pretty messy kids. We forgot to bring gloves, so we were not able to bag up the poky weeds that I cleared, the entire back wall was blocked by those darn weeds. Then, I got bit by a number of ants and I was sweating way too much for comfort. I was so ready to get out of there as soon as we arrived. Kevin, of course, being his always upbeat self, got right to work clearing some of the sandy dirt that had washed straight into the street back onto our property. As I raked and raked the dirt that at one point had a river run through it, I thought: "What were we thinking? I am so happy we ended in Queen Creek. This is NOT for me." We finally finished, took some pictures around town for the blog (we set one up to help advertise while we try to sell), stopped at Del Taco in Casa Grande for lunch on the run and made our way back home. Yes, I was about 30 minutes late to my precious party, but the work is done. Thank goodness!!

What's Up Heather?
Okay, Heather... You know that you take great pictures, so when are you going to set up your blog already? I cannot wait to share your talent with family and friends.
Heather has taken our family picture for every one of our Christmas cards. This year will be no different. I love photo shoots with her, she has a way of getting the best out of the kids and catching their candid moments.

18 Months
I can hardly believe that Karter is old enough to attend nursery. That does not in any way mean that I was not ready (because I was more than ready and I think I can say the same for Kevin). He has gone in twice now and so far has not had any problems. We are grateful for his sweet spirit and most definitely for nursery leaders!

Preschool Update
Kimble is doing well at preschool this year. She always seems to come home happy, which is all that really matters to me. This is her latest project: the letter B covered in beans. I have decided to take pictures of all her projects instead of trying to save them all, hopefully saving me some space while also saving her memories.

Christmas Memories
We recently reserved our tickets for The Polar Express train ride in Williams, Arizona. This will be our 4th year (I am trying to make it a family tradition). We are so excited that we are able to share the experience with the Pratt family this year!

Season 4 DVD
Today, the DVD for The Office Season 4 comes out. I am so hoping that Steph will be able to get to Target today and start watching it. I already told her I want to borrow it as soon as she is finished. As if today wasn't exciting enough, at least for me, the new season of The Office starts in 23 days. Woohoo!
Labor Day 08
Labor Day weekend turned out to be full of family fun for us. On Saturday, we met my mom's family at my cousin's house in Mesa for lunch. It was fun getting to catch up and play games. The food wasn't too shabby either.
On Sunday, my sister, Heather, had the kids spend the night at her house (which is always nice for us and the kids). Kevin and I took the opportunity to chill on the couch together and watch The Office Season 2 on DVD.
On Monday, Kevin and I got to have lunch at Applebee's without the kids, a rarity. Then, we all headed over to Kevin's parent's house in Peoria. Everyone, except me of course, had a nap on the long drive over. It is always great to be able to visit his family, especially since we are on opposite sides of the valley, it's not always a possibility.
Kevin always makes sure to play at least one game of football while we are visiting his parents.
Kimble was able to find the little bit of shade on a very sunny day.
Karter's newly acquired injury. All I know is, it happened at Heather's house and it involved an empty orange juice jug.
Kevin's brother, Keith, and his daughter, Jamie. Too cute!
While Kimble stayed on the steps, the other kiddos jumped off the diving board. At one point they were going so fast that they nearly jumped on top of each other.
After playing in the pool, on the swing set, on the trampoline and in the spa, the kids took a trip down the slip n' slide to finish things off. Kevin had to help a little, that's his hand in the picture.
