Last week I had to take all of the kids with me to run errands. Unfortunately, Koltyn was having a really bad (super cranky) day and was not the most pleasant one year old. So we took some time to play on the playground at San Tan Village after picking up Kimble from school. It definitely helped Koltyn calm down a little and got some wiggles out of the older two. We don't play there often, so I took the opportunity to get some pictures of the kids having a grand old time... silly faces and all.

Craft Day
Saturday was our ward craft day, and boy was it a blast. Although there were times that felt pretty frantic, it seemed like everyone enjoyed themselves. The two crafts that I loved (and was not in charge of) were the chicken wire frame and wooden mummy.
I found this frame at a garage sale and instantly knew that it would be perfect for what I wanted to make. So, I took it apart, painted several layers of different colors and scuffed it up a little. Then, I took it to the craft day and added the wire. I think that it turned out GREAT and will work perfectly as a memo board in the kitchen!
I also made this super-super cute mummy. By simply wrapping the cut-out pieces of wood with muslin and then painting a couple eyes peeking through, I was able to make a wonderful Halloween decoration. The kids have loved it and are even more excited for Halloween to arrive.

this & that
I let Karter take pictures with the camera (under my supervision of course). He definitely has a different point of view and takes some pretty interesting pictures. These are a couple of the better ones.
Can you say nap time? I went to get Koltyn out of his highchair after lunch and found him like this. He was totally out and didn't even flinch when I picked him up to put him in bed.
Last week, I really needed a change so I switched Kimble's room and the toy room. I was able to get it done pretty quickly. As soon as I moved Kimble's bed in her new room she said, "I love this big room, but why are there no things on the walls?" I took the challenge and this is what I came up with. Using only materials I already had I was able to "put some things on the walls." Best part... it cost me nothing and Kimble loves looking at the pictures of herself and the pictures that she made.

{oopsies}
This morning I attempted to cut both boy's hair. Koltyn did really well, no problems. Karter, on the other hand, did not want his haircut or to sit still. He squirmed around so much that the guard was knocked off without me even realizing. Next thing I know, he has a really short patch of hair. I was so bummed, but knew that I needed to make the rest of his hair the same length. So I finished buzzing his head and then made him look in the mirror so that he could see just what happens when he doesn't sit still like Mommy says to. Just to be safe, I am delegating all haircutting responsibilities to Kevin from now on.
